Aliana Miro – Owner See Professional Biography

Aliana Miro worked as an Accounting Clerk for 5 years in Environmental Control Services (ENVCO) while studying at University of Puerto Rico as an undergraduate. In year 2000, Aliana earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico.

Immediately after graduation, Aliana accepted employment with F & R Contractors, Corp. as an Accounts Receivable Clerk. Aliana also concurrently obtained in 2002 a Masters in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Phoenix at Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Once promoted to Assistant Comptroller, Aliana earned the Tax Specialist License from the Department of the Treasury in Puerto Rico.
On 2003, Aliana created AMS Tax and Accounting Services, a DBA Company, providing accounting and taxes services for small business and individuals in Puerto Rico.

Additionally to her vast accounting experience, On 2004 Aliana began to provide Information Systems Consulting Services to Oracle and Partners, participating on successful implementations of Peoplesoft Financial System for government and private organizations. Participated in several projects where her responsibilities included project lead roles, change management, and organizational transformation. With this experience, Aliana can spearheads the firm’s information technology support functions, providing appropriate training, communication and troubleshooting support for clients accounting software applications. She often consults with clients regarding computer systems and upgrades, including hardware and software based on client’s needs and goals.

Having enough clients from the United States, on 2010 Aliana became an authorized eFile provider from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), with the purpose of expand the tax and accounting services to the United States. Aliana loves to solve problems and you can find her spending hours with many of her clients exploring innovative solutions to their accounting, business, and financial concerns. Her client relationships can be compared to that of an in-house CPA, who is consulted on a daily basis and for the most routine to the most complex accounting-related issues. Her role extends beyond basic tax preparation and review into tax planning and management consulting. She also has represented clients before the IRS for tax examination and collections.

 

 


Efraín Guzmán – Partner See Professional Biography

Efraín Guzmán received his Bachelor degree in business administration from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus in 2001; majoring in both, financial accounting and investment finance. Efraín Guzmán is currently working as an Oracle instructor and UPK content developer for TransAmerica Training Management, an Oracle University partner. Passionate about the accounting profession, he started working for BL & Co., a local accounting firm in Puerto Rico whose major focus is on small to medium size business who needed help in restructuring their accounting business processes and guidance on complex tax matters. During a period of three years, Efraín Guzmán found himself providing tax and accounting services for a wide range of different business, from service professional, like lawyer, to medium size retailers in the Puerto Rico area. In 2005 his strong problem solving and analytical skills were noticed by a partner branch of BL & Co., and so began his career as a Functional Consultant.

Early in 2005, Efraín Guzmán was introduced to the world of PeopleSoft consulting by joining the team of consultants at ProActive Technology Consultants, Inc. (PATC). As an independent consultant for PATC, he was able to play an important role in a number of implementation projects for both, government agencies and private businesses alike; from early stages of the implementation until long after the products were in service. This exposure gave Efraín Guzmán a wide knowledge of the whole financials and supply chain component, which turned out to be extremely useful for what lay ahead. During the summer of 2008, Efraín Guzmán was recruited by Nexvel Consulting Co., it was then when he was exposed to prove himself as an instructor, obtaining remarkable results and enjoying the experience, more than he had anticipated. He began by joining the team of instructors on a project for the Puerto Rico Department of Education, where he was tasked with, along four other fellow instructors, training the over 1,300 public school principals and their assistants in the use of PeopleSoft Purchasing.

In May 2013, Efraín was invited by TransAmerica Training Management (TAM) to join a team of UPK developers who will be responsible for developing end-user training content for Yamana Gold; a Toronto based mining company that was undergoing a company-wide JD Edwards financials system implementation. End-user training content was to be developed and delivered for both, their Toronto and their Argentina based staff. After the project was over, Efraín Guzmán was asked by TAM to joined their team of instructors; remembering how much he enjoyed his previous experience as an instructor for the Puerto Rico Department of Education, he accepted the challenge and has proven himself an invaluable and talented asset many times over.
